My job is to convey each brand’s appeal

The press team lends samples to the media and stylists on a daily basis, and one of our tasks is to take an objective look at products, turn that into an image, and spread the word so that as many people as possible can know about them. We start by photographing new looks at the beginning of the season, think about how to promote using those products, and share through trial and error.

Having good products is meaningless if you can’t share with people who want them. The quality of a product, the way it’s presented and communicated, and the ability to sell instore are all key factors. Our team works together to create the flow for products to sell. The role of the press team is to look at things from a bird's-eye view, visualize, and then make it a reality.

Having a plethora of ideas

For the MASU collaboration held at Super A Market Aoyama, we worked on the concept together with buyers and directors from the planning stage, and many media outlets covered the project. I was thrilled when I saw customers who came to the store on the first morning to check out the products. The effectiveness of advertising is reflected in the number of visitors and sales. I can't always use the same method, so I try to find the best method for every occasion.

Which is why daily input is so important. I keep a number of extra ideas in my drawer, and when necessary, I take them out or combine them to make proposals. I want to keep adding to those ideas so that we can share even better information with our customers.

Dreams are realized through the power of words

I’ve loved fashion since I was a student and I was interested in PR even before joining Tomorrowland. My senior advised me, “If you have something you want to do, say it out loud,” so I put my intentions into words when I want to try something. At the time, I wasn't very good at talking to people, and talking about my dreams was honestly embarrassing.

But as I consciously continued to put my thoughts into words, the number of people who remembered them increased, and I started being invited to help with events at other stores and press interviews, and just before my second year with the company, I was transferred to my current department. It was the first time in my life that I started telling people what I wanted to do. To this day, I strongly hold on to the importance of putting things into words.
